Prosecution Rests in Astor Trial
This week the prosecution fully rested in the trial against John D. Marshall and Francis X. Morrissey. The trial, involving the estate of Brooke Astor, will now move to the defense’s presentation.
According to John Eligon, Prosecution Finally Rests in Brooke Astor Case, NY Times, Aug. 18, 2009, “[s]ome of the prosecution’s witnesses were actually more aligned with the defense’s version of events, making it seem likely that the defense will present a short case and take its chances with what it was able to elicit on cross-examination.”
See my prior posting for more information regarding the length of the prosecution’s presentation.
