Questions Regarding Jackson Wrongful Death Suit
Michael Jackson’s estate may have problems asserting an economically viable wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray:
- Suing for economic loss of financial support could be a challenge because Jackson has been more profitable after death than he was during the years immediately preceding his death.
- Non-economic damages are capped at $250,000 in California.
- Punitive damages depend on a felony homicide conviction or the estate proving malice, and could be limited even if this occurs.
