Tennessee: Unclaimed Dead and Science Donations Increase
I previously posted a number of blogs regarding reported increases in unclaimed bodies due to financial inability of families to pay for burial or cremation of their loved ones.
Tennessee has joined the list of states reporting an increase in unclaimed bodies. Specifically, “so many bodies have been donated to science in Tennessee this year that the Vanderbilt School of Medicine and the University of Tennessee Body Farm have stopped accepting cadaver donations.” Jennifer Brooks, Overload of bodies fills Tennessee morgues, Tennessean, Sept. 8, 2009.
