Federal Agency Recognizes Hospitals for Organ Donation Rates

The Department of Health and Human Services recently recognized organ donation efforts by various entities, including the following:

• Over 400 hospitals received awards for increasing the number of organs available for donation.
•  The Department’s Medal of Honor went to 58 organ procurement organizations.
• Thirty hospitals earned a gold medal for improving and increasing donation rates as well as expanding processes for recovering organs.
