CLE on Trust Litigation and Ethics
The ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law is sponsoring a teleconference and live audio webcast entitled What to Do When the Client Slips the Lease: Real-World Trust Litigation and Ethics, As You Hope You’ll Never Have to See Them on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The program information is below:
Trustees are held to a very high standard. Trustees often do not understand their duties or carry them out properly. Blaming the attorney may be their response. In this program, the panelists will role play attorneys at a firm whose trustee-client breached his duties and now wants to perpetuate the wrongs – or pass his liability onto the firm. Listen as the panelists work through complex practical and legal issues, including:
- Potential claims against the trustee and the trustee’s potential defenses
- Potential claims against the law firm and the firm’s likely defenses
- Ethical issues for the firm
