Price Claims She’s Coleman’s Common-Law Wife
Shannon Price just filed documents requesting that she be appointed special administrator of Gary Coleman’s estate on grounds that she was Coleman’s common-law wife. She’s also submitted the previously-mentioned 2007 codicil which leaves everything to her.
Utah does recognize common law marriage, but the law requires that the couple request that the marriage be recognized either during the relationship or within one year after the relationship ended. Price’s lawyer claims that Price was Coleman’s common-law-wife because they had joint bank accounts, filed joint tax returns, incurred debt jointly, continued to have a romantic relationship, and they celebrated holidays and important days together.
