O’Quinn’s Companion Takes His Executor to Court
I previously blogged about John O’Quinn’s long-term companion, Darla Lexington, seeking a portion of O’Quinn’s estate. Previously, she hadn’t filed any papers and was trying to handle the situation discreetly, but today she is taking it to court.
O’Quinn’s will states that he was unmarried and all his property should go to charity. The executor wants to follow the will, but Darla claims she was O’Quinn’s common-law wife and is entitled to half of the community property during the six years they lived together. The main issue at court today will be the sale of five classic cars. Darla claims that O’Quinn gave them to her as gifts, but the executor wants to sell the cars to pay off debt. Today the judge could decide to allow the sale or stop it.
