Shirley A. Webster Lecture in Wealth Transfer Law
Thomas P. Gallanis (N. William Hines Professor of Law, University of Iowa College of Law) is giving the Shirley A. Webster Lecture in Wealth Transfer Law entitled The New Direction of American Trust Law at 3:00 p.m. on October 21, 2010 in the Boyd Law Building.
Thomas P. Gallanis holds the N. William Hines Chair in Law at the University of Iowa. He is an authority on trust, probate, and investment law. Elected to the American Law Institute, he serves as Associate Reporter for the Restatement Third of Trusts, as an Adviser to the Principles of the Law of Nonprofit Organizations, and as a Consultant to the Restatement Third of Property. Within the Uniform Law Commission, he serves as Assistant Executive Director of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Trust and Estate Acts, the official body monitoring all uniform legislation in the field. He is the author of many articles on trusts and estates, and is the author of one of the principal casebooks in the field, Family Property Law: Cases and Materials on Wills, Trusts and Future Interests. He is an academic fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
