Wife Steals from Dennis Hopper Trust
At the time Dennis Hopper passed away earlier this year, he was amidst bitter divorce proceedings from Victoria Duffy. Hopper filed an affidavit before his death stating that Duffy had stolen from him and then left town.
Now the Dennis Hopper Trust is suing Duffy for allegedly stealing valuable artwork that belonged to the trust. The artworks, including an Andy Warhol portrait and Robert Graham and Banksy sculptures, were Hopper’s separate property and are valued at more than $1.5 million.
A Los Angeles judge will determine title and possibly require Duffy to return the artwork to the Co-Trustees on December 22, 2010.
