EMT Pleads Guilty to Posting Corpse Photo on Facebook

Facebook In March 2009, Mark Musarella, a retired NYPD detective, arrived at the scene where Calvin Lawson, 30, murdered Caroline Wimmer, 26, by wrapping a hairdryer cord around her neck. Musarella took a gruesome cell phone picture of Wimmer and posted it on his Facebook profile.

Last week, Musarella pled guilty to offical misconduct and disorderly conduct. He must complete 200 hours of community service at Richmond University Medical Center and is banned from working as an EMT.

The victim’s family intends to sue the city and Facebook.
