Picasso’s Electrician Reveals 271 Pieces of Art
Pierre Le Guennec, a retired electrician in southern France who installed burglar alarms at Picasso’s houses, claims that Picasso gave him 271 pieces of art as gifts. In September, Le Guennec approached Picasso’s estate in order to get the artworks authenticated by Picasso’s son, Claude. After authenticating the artworks, the family had them confiscated from Le Guennec, claiming that Picasso would never give so many artworks to one person.
A multimillion-euro legal battle will now begin over the ownership of the artworks, which are valued at about 60 million euros.
