Illegal Organ Trade in Kosovo
After a two-year inquiry, Dick Marty, Swiss senator and human rights activist, concluded that Kosovo militants were killing captives to sell their organs abroad. The report further accused Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci of being involved, evoking heated disputes. Russian lawmaker Dmitry Vyatkin has vowed to help collect evidence and bring those responsible to trial. This won’t be an easy task because neither Kosovo nor Albania will assist the investigation, but will instead attempt to conceal and destroy all evidence. Further, Kosovo is said to still be conducting this bloody business. Lawmakers intend to establish criminal liability for international human organ trade.
