Jackson Estate Settles with Heal the World Foundation

While Michael Jackson was alive, he started the Heal the World Foundation, which was taken over by Melissa Johnson. According to Johnson, Jackson gave his blessing for her to use many trademarks related to Jackson. About 18 months ago, the estate executors sued to stop it.

Katherine Jackson sided with the foundation, and ended up firing her lawyer over it. Estate executors and the foundation’s attorneys reached a settlement a few days ago. The foundation must return the trademarks to the estate, executors will assist in managing the foundation, and Melissa Johnson and Katherine Jackson will remain on the board of directors.
