The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010 mixes opportunities, questions, and traps. These provisions should be carefully considered as some of the opportunities may only exist through 2012 and provisions applying to deaths in 2010 may impact a surviving spouse’s planning.
