More Speculation on Steve Jobs’ Estate Plans
Many people continue to speculate as to what Steve Jobs’ estate plan will reveal. As I recently blogged, it is unlikely that Job’s will will be read or that his estate plan will be made public. However, actions that Jobs’ took in life may be indicative of the information found in his estate plan.
During his life, Jobs was asked by Bill Gates to contribute to a philanthropy alongside prominent executives including Mr. Gates and Warren E. Buffet. According to a direct source, Jobs declined to make the contribution.
Jobs’ wife, Laurene Powell Jobs, is now expected to oversee Jobs’ fortune. Mrs. Jobs graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business and founded College Track, a program aimed at helping disadvantaged students earn college degrees. As a result of Mrs. Jobs work, some speculate that any charitable donation from Jobs’ fortune will likely go to education.
