Man’s Body Found Four Years After His Death

Images-1In Wisconsin, a Real estate agent discovered a man’s dead body in a near-skeleton state more than four years after he took his own life. The real estate agent was sent to his house to deliver foreclosure papers and discovered the deceased David Carter with a Smith and Wesson 9 mm on his chest. One journalist with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel investigated how this man went unnoticed for so long. He discovered a sad story that revealed Mr. Carter intentionally misled people before he took his own life.

Mr. Carter had no siblings and never knew who his father was. His mother passed away in 1997, and this apparently started his depressive state. He was out of contact with people for a while after that and he told his friends and neighbors that he was going to move to New Mexico, so when he disappeared, the friends and neighbors just assumed he had made the move. Additionally, due to his depression, he was spending much time in isolation before he took his life, so nobody noted his disappearance as unusual. The city did not discover his death because Carter’s home was paid for and the city did not make strong efforts to collect his property taxes.

Some of Carter’s friends are now planning a memorial gathering to honor him.
