Huguette Clark’s Apartments For Sale

Images-2Three apartments on 907 Fifth Avenue are on the market for a total of $55 million. The apartments are intricate and two of the three have a beautiful view of Central Park, but the most remarkable characteristic of the apartments is that they have been uninhabited for years.

The apartments belong to the recently deceased heiress Huguette Clark. Clark lived most of her life in hospitals for the last two years of her life, even when she was in good health. They were recently put on the market for the $55 million, but they are not open to the public yet. A select group of wealthy potential buyers have recently been allowed to go into the apartments and have given us an inside look into the living space. One viewed described the tour as a “time warp.” There is oak paneling, antique appliances, and original wood floors. There is one apartment on the top floor that is generally acknowledged as the most lavish of the three and was likened to an English castle by one viewer. The other two apartments consume the eighth floor and showcase similar antique appliances and designs.

In addition to the three apartments, Mrs. Clark had two mansions. Mrs. Clark left behind an estimated fortune of $400 million, no children, and two wills. Her assets that were not specifically bequeathed are currently being liquidated.
