Britney’s Fiance Petitions Court to Become Co-Conservator
Jason Trawick, Britney Spears’ fiancé, has petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court to become Britney’s co-conservator. If granted, Jason and Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, would be co-conservators of the pop star. Jamie has maintained legal control of Britney since February 2008. Jason would share responsibility for Britney’s “general well-being,” including decisions about her food, clothing, and medical care, but Jason would not have control over Britney’s multi-million dollar estate.
According to Jeffery S. Cohen, a Los Angeles probate attorney, the petitioning of the court could mean that Britney and Jason will wed soon, and the petition may be a compromise between Brtiney, Jamie, and Jason to help begin the marriage harmoniously. Jason proposed to Britney in December on his 40th birthday.
