A Roadmap for a Client’s Documents

WillsA person might want to draft a roadmap to outline all of that person’s important documents. The reason that a person might want to do this is to help his or her family find all of the legal and financial paperwork that they might need after that person’s death. Furthermore, a person want to include information that would help a person’s loved ones contact important people, such as the decease’s attorney, and online accounts. A person should also include copies of all of their important documents. If a person needs more incentive to get organized, then that person might be happy to realize that the act of forming a roadmap does more than just get a person organized. The act of becoming more organized might actually help a person find holes in the that person’s estate plan.

A person can choose any means to go about creating a roadmap; however, that person might want to take into consideration the sensitivity of the information that he or she is organizing. For example, it might not be a good idea to immediately share with everyone password information for a person’s protected accounts. A person might also want to update this roadmap every year or so to ensure that it is current.
