Co-CEOs End Dispute Over Control of “Archie” Comic Company
The two Co-CEOs, Jon Goldwater and Nancy Silberkleit, of the company that published the “Archie” comics have come to a settlement agreement following a long dispute for control of the company. The dispute occurred when Mr. Goldwater accused Ms. Silberkleit of sexually harassing the company employees and engaging in other destructive behavior. Ms. Silberkleit filed a countersuit against Mr. Goldman. She claimed that he defamed her and asked for $100 million in remedial damages. The two CEOs agreed to court-recommended mediation, mostly to restore the reputation of the company.
However, this is not the end of the dispute. While the two CEOs have come to an agreement, the collateral damage caused by their fighting has made the other shareholders uncertain about their continued leadership. In addition, the nieces of Richard Goldwater might bring a suit against their uncle, Jon Goldwater, for mishandling their investment and engaging in the past lawsuit.
