Man Suspected in Woman’s Disappearance Sues For Life Insurance Money

Unknown-1Gary Giordano was put in jail last year after reporting his travel companion’s disappearance. They never charged him with a crime, but despite his story that Robyn Gardner likely died snorkeling, cops suspect Giordano had something to do with her disappearance. The life insurance policy that he took out on Gardner’s life before they travelled is one reason police suspect his involvement.

Giordano was released in November and is suing American Express for a $3.5 million insurance policy he took out on Gardner’s life. Even though Gardner is presumed dead, AmEx will not pay this claim until a year after her death.

Last month, police charged Giordano and a 46-year-old woman with indecent exposure when they caught the couple having sex in a parked car.
