Court Hears Mickey Rooney Elder Abuse Case
As I have previous discussed, Mickey Rooney, the famous child actor, accused his stepson, Christopher Aber, of elder abuse. More specifically, the actor accused his stepson maltreatment and meddling in the actor’s financial affairs. On July 9, 2012, the Los Angeles Superior Court continued hearings these allegations. According to the allegations, Rooney claimed that his stepson and his wife would deprive the Rooney of food and his medication. In addition, the actor also claimed that they prevented him from leaving the house. What is interesting about this case is that his current wife and the mother of his stepson has taken sides with her son against Rooney. Jan Chamberlin, Rooney’s wife, denies that any of these incidents actually happened.
Following the incidents, Rooney placed a restraining order on his stepson and his wife, and subsequently hired his attorney to act as his conservator.
