Update on Man Who’s Giving $500 Tips to his Servers

MoneyAs I have previously discussed, Aaron Collins’ told his brother in his will to give $500 to server on an everyday meal. Since his brother’s death, his brother Samuel Collins has fulfilled his brother’s wishes several times, established a website called AaronCollins.org, and has received over a $1,000 in donations to continue Aaron’s wish. However, this is not the first time a customer has given a large tip to a server that they felt was in need. According to Huffington Post, a couple that was dining at an Italian restaurant in Houston gave their server a $5,000 tip. Greg Rubar’s, the server, car was destroyed by bad weather, and so the couple thought that they could help him by giving him a large tip. They told him upon giving him the tip that he should “‘go buy himself a car.'”
