Winner of Lottery Forgot She Had Winning Lottery Ticket in Her Car

You know the old saying: “It is better late than never.” A woman in California has a better understanding of that saying after realizing that she yet to redeem her $23 million lottery ticket. It took her five months but the woman is finally cashing in a winning lottery ticket that she forgot she had in her car. She was completely unaware that she was the winner until her daughter recognized her as the winner in a picture that was placed in the local newspaper. The woman’s daughter showed the woman the picture, which led her to look for and find the old ticket. She reportedly claimed her prize Friday. Luckily, the woman still had plenty of time to redeem her prize. The deadline for her to claim the prize was November 26, 2012.
