WHY ATTEND?

Government reports from the Treasury Inspector General forTax Administration and theGovernment Accountability Office reveal a significant amountof noncompliance fromtaxpayers who make excess contributions to IRA accounts andfrom taxpayers who failto receive required minimum distributions.

The IRS is developing a significant long-term complianceinitiative to reduce this growingnoncompliance involving retirement accounts. This strategyincludes the developmentof techniques to identify individuals who are not incompliance. The initiative will alsoinclude education components and outreach programs.
