Auction_sign

Marianne Blend, a 78-year-old widow living in Highland Park,Los Angeles, thought she was the rightful owner of her home until she saw twomen place an auction sign in her yard.

Blend’s husband left the tiny house to her in his willbefore his death in 2011.  However, according to the Public Administrator’s office, the house is being auctionedbecause of a delinquency on the home’s 2011 property taxes.

The winning bidder of the auction will have to appear incourt for a confirmation hearing, where Blend will have an opportunity toprotest the sale.

Dozens of potential buyers have already toured thehome.  Blend recently suffered a strokeas well as serious burns after catching her clothes on fire.  Blend’s neighbors, who help her get aroundtown, have joined in the effort to help save her home of over 27 years.
