Indian Woman Attempts to Revoke 40-Year-Old Probate

A Bombay high court has dismissed the petition of an Indianwoman trying to reopen her late father’s will after 48 years.

The father of Seema Vyas died in 1965 leaving all of hisproperty to his wife and two sons.  Vyas,62, claims that a citation was never served upon her when her father’s will wasprobated in 1973.  Claiming she wasintentionally kept in the dark, Vyas took her brothers to court to revoke theprobate.  The court found no evidence tosupport her case that she was entitled to one-sixth of the estate throughintestacy.
