$30 Million Dollar Legal Battle And Counting

PerelmanRon Perelman has allegedly spent over $30 million dollars of hisdaughter’s inheritance on a series of unsuccessful lawsuits against the familyof Perelman’s second wife, Claudia Cohen, a tabloid columnist. Cohen andPerelman stayed friends after their divorce. Cohen designated Perelman as theexecutor of her estate. Cohen’s daughter Samantha is the primary beneficiary ofher estate. The Cohen family claims the litigation arose not out of revenge andspite. Perelman claims he is attempting to protect Samantha. However, none ofhis suits have been successful. In fact, Perelman’s attorneys were fined over amillion dollars for filing frivolous law suits. Moreover, one of the judgments resultedin a $13 million dollar judgment in the opposing sides favor. Despite these judgments it doesn’t looklike Perelman is giving up because he has filed two appeals.
