In 2006, the Attorney General of Mississippi, Jim Hood, filed a lawsuit against GP Management Services, which oversaw Greenlawn Memorial Gardens; the owner Steve Ragland’s estate; his former wife, Gail Phillips; her current husband, and two other corporations under their control.The law suit includes more than 50 claims for restitution for prepaid funeral services. Many of the people had prepaid burial plots, grave markers, and monuments .
