Clark’s Nurse Agrees to Return $7 Million to the Clark Estate
AsI have previously discussed,heiress, Huguette Clark, died Tuesday, May 24, at the age of 104. Clark was thedaughter of William Andrews Clark, a business man who had made a fortune inmining. Clark’s will was filed with a Manhattan court, allowing the world tosee where Clark’s estimated $300 million estate will go. Jury selection startedSeptember 17, however, an hour after the process had begun Judge Andersonstopped the selection. The jury selection was delayed so that the parties couldreach an agreement.
OnFriday, September 20, the attorneys in the Huguette Clark estate battle reacheda tentative settlement. Unfortunately, Huguette Clark’s nurse, Hadassah Peri,will return part of her inheritance. Peri will have to return $5 million of the$30 million dollars she was left under the disputed will. Additionally, Periwill also have to return the unique doll collection Clark left her. The totalvalue of what Peri is returning to the estate is about $7 million.
