Napoleon’s Codicils Go On The Market In November

NapoleonNapoleon hand wrote his last will andtestament. The late French Emperor’s will also had two holographic amendments. One of the amendments read, “I want my ashes to rest on the banks of the Seineamong the French people I loved so much.” The other amendment listed his belongingsto be divided among his closest associates and his “good and dear mother.”

Napoleon draftedthese amendments because he feared that the British would destroy the originalwill. Now, both amendments will be auctioned in Paris in November. ArtemisiaAuctions is conducting the sale. The amendments are expected to bring in $162,000 dollars.
