Till Death Do Them Part

Rings Recently, J.B and H.B, parted ways amicably.  The issue in the couples relationship is that J.B. and H.B. are male. The two men were married in the North East in 2006 where same sex marriage has been permitted for the past 9 years. Following their ceremony, the couple moved to Texas and now want to get a divorce.

Unfortunately, divorce isstill difficult for couples living in states that do not allow same-sexmarriage like Texas.  They will have to go to astate that does recognize same-sex marriage and, in many cases, satisfy aresidency requirement before getting divorced.  Same-sex couples seeking a divorce may alsoface protracted child-custody battles if a non-biological parent has notadopted the child.
