Philanthropist John Q. Hammons died last year but his estate battles have just begun. 16 different people or entities have filed claims against Hammons estate. A Missouri State University claims that the school is still receiving the $30 million donation to build “JQH arena.” The school will be paid every year until the donation is paid off. The total amount in claims against the Hammons estate is $365 million dollars. The only problem is that the inventory of his personal assets lists only one piece of property: an old van worth just over $1,000.
