Eccentric, Isolated Iowa Farmer Leaves Over Nine Million to Area Priests
Farmer Edwin “Bud” Skalla became the talk of the town across Iowa when news of his will began to spread. Skalla left the majority of his $13.4 million fortune to 13 local Catholic parishes across Iowa. Last Thursday, the Catholic priests each received a $750,000 check.
