Estate of Yale Professor Questions Events That Led to His Death
After Same See, a Yale assistant professor, died from a heart attack at age 34 while in police custody, his family had suspicions that neglect and mistreatment by police were linked to his death. See’s estate was considering bringing a lawsuit regarding See’s treatment while detained following a domestic dispute. Now that more information has been made available to the family, it seems that they do not intend to bring a wrongful death claim, but do still have unanswered questions. See’s family, who did not previously know that he had visited a local hospital numerous times leading up to his death in regards to drug use, specifically methamphetamines, is seeking answers to why the drugs were not found in See’s system when he was taken to a hospital by police roughly 10 hours before he died.
