Family Feuding Over Lost Inheritance

Krurregands

On his deathbed, a New York City landlord told his siblings that he hid $4.5 million worth of silver bullion and gold krugerrands, however, no one knew where.  This confession hurled the family into years of litigation and an expensive treasure hunt, one that remains unresolved.

Edward Giaimo Jr., a Manhattan lawyer and property owner told his brother and sister they would need a truck to move the fortune in metal he stashed.  His brother has since claimed in court filings that the krugerrands (South African gold coins) and silver bullions are buried on the family property or kept in an unknown storage facility.  Although the “treasure” has yet to be discovered, the family is still fighting over $10 million discovered in Giaimo’s house, which probably came from “skimming rents on subsidized apartments.”
