Son Claims Father Hid Millions

Sidney Kronenberg

The owner of a Brooklyn hardware business who was prosecuted by Rudy Giuliani for playing a role in a massive corruption scandal in the 1980s hid millions of dollars before his death, claims his son.

Sidney Kronenberg, who owned Brown Industries Inc., died in 2010 with about $8 million that had been accounted for.  Yet, his son, S. Harris Kronenberg, says there is much more money hidden in offshore accounts and under aliases.

Two years ago, Harris went to Westchester Surrogate’s Court to ask a judge to allow him to take over administration of his dad’s estate from his uncle so he could hunt for the hidden cash.  A judge signed off on the request in November 2013.

Since then, Harris has gone to court to compel financial institutions and his sister to hand over information that might point to the money.  Unfortunately, Harris’ search has not yielded any assets.
