Hidden Treasure Uncovered in Estate Sale

When Emil Knodell went to an estate sale of a man who had died in Missouri City, Texas, he purchased a chest for $100 that he soon discovered had a hidden drawer of treasure. 

While loading the chest, Emil and others noticed it was making “all this racket on the inside.”  Upon opening one of the drawers, they found rings, diamonds, gold, among other items.  Jeff Allen, who works for Premiere Estate Sales Network, said the dresser dates back to around 1890. 

After experiencing a surge of adrenaline from his discovery, Emil decided to call the owner of the dresser to return the items.  “I bought the chest drawers.  I didn’t buy those things.  If I kept them, I would never feel right about it.  There would be a cloud over the whole thing,” said Emil.
