The Boston Estate Planning Council has announced that this year’s 2016 excellence award, which is the council’s highest honor, will go to Barbara Freedman Wand. Barbara Freedman Wand is a partner at Day Pitney LLP and has made significant contributions to the estate planning profession. “Freedman Wand will be honored at the Council’s Annual Gala, which will take place on May 26, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.” The Council is recognizing Barbara Freedman Wand for her expertise and achievements as a leading estate planning lawyer. She is a well-regarded author and popular speaker and has been heavily involved in a number of different community betterment and philanthropic organizations. “She is Chair of the Professional Advisors Committee at The Boston Foundation, which counsels the Foundation as it establishes, develops and maintains strong working relationships with the members of Greater Boston’s advisor community.”
