Yemen Civil War Is Destroying the Country’s Museum Mummies

Decaying mummiesThe resulting terror from Yemen’s two-year-long civil war has not only victimized the living, but now, it is affecting the dead. The ancient mummies that are on display in Yemen’s major museums are disintegrating due to power cuts that are disrupting dehumidifiers and sanctions that have cut supplies to preservation chemicals. These losses have ruined Yemen’s infrastructure, causing experts to appeal for funding and better equipment that will fight off the bacteria decaying the mummies.
