Gregory LeNoir Allman died Saturday, May 27, 2017. The 69-year old’s death was caused by complications stemming from liver cancer. Allman was a prolific musician, singer, keyboardist, and songwriter. He was considered a Southern rock pioneer and had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and was the recipient of several Grammy awards. His funeral service was a quiet, intimate affair among family and close friends; Allman’s ex-wife, Cher, was among the mourners. The route from the funeral to the cemetery was lined with supportive fans gathered to say their final goodbye.
