Woman Who Cared for Florida Gunman Reportedly Wants to Control His Inheritance
Roxanne Deschamps, the woman who was taking care of Nikolas Cruz, the Florida shooting suspect, reportedly filed papers with the court seeking control of Cruz’s inheritance. Deschamps looked after Nikolas Cruz and his brother, Zachary, after their mother, Lynda Cruz, passed away in November from pneumonia. The court papers indicate she wants to administer Lynda’s estate, which would allow her to charge a fee for her effort. Nikolas told a family friend that he believed Deschamps wanted to steal his inheritance. Prior to the shooting, Deschamps kicked Nikolas out of her trailer, after taking nearly $3,000 from him, in part because of his collection of guns.
