Trial Date Set for Disposition of Estate of One of Maui’s Richest Men
I recently blogged about the dispute over the estate of Lorance Dorcy, one of Maui’s richest men. When Dorcy died in June, he left behind a will giving his entire estate to Hans Kanuha, a Maui resident. A previous will left Dorcy’s estate to a number of charities, friends, and relatives. Petitioners claim Dorcy was very ill before his death and changed his will because of Kanuha’s undue influence.
A Second Circuit judge has set the trial date for March 12 to determine which of Dorcy’s two wills will control the disposition of his $80 million estate. It is expected that the trial will last three weeks.
